Meet Our Founder
John Broussard.
John Broussard, born in Los Angeles, faced a childhood marked by communal living, foster care, welfare, abuse, and the tragedy of witnessing his sister’s murder. Despite these adversities, he transformed his life’s challenges into a message of hope and change. As a two-time nationally recognized top 10 Athletic Director, Assistant Principal, Author, Poet, and Philanthropist, John’s commitment to child activism is unwavering.
With a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction and a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, John is dedicated to ensuring educators are at their best. He approaches this mission with the dual perspective of both a dedicated practitioner and a passionate advocate for child welfare. John’s emphasis on connection and relationship-building aims to address the holistic needs of both students and educators. He firmly believes that reaching young people fully requires a deep exploration of one’s own self.

At Connected 3030, our message is clear: we equip educators with the essential tools to discover their true selves, allowing them to, in turn, discover the full potential of their students. We firmly believe that when educators are at their best, they empower the next generation to reach new heights.
John’s acclaimed book, Letters from an Educator: The Child You Didn’t See, launched during the emotional climate of the COVID-19 pandemic, highlighted the urgent need for empathy and connection in schools. This success led to the creation of Connected 3030, offering keynotes, workshops, and growth journals that empower educators to create inclusive and supportive learning environments—driving profound and lasting change.
